Russell’s points came on 8-of-14 shooting from the field and 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. He also added five assists.
The Rams have now won six straight games and improve to 14-5 overall and 6-1 in the A-10.

They are one game behind Dayton, who is 7-0 in the A-10.
St. Bonaventure falls to 12-8 on the season and 4-3 in the conference.
URI Rallies in 2nd
Trailing by five at the half, URI opened the second half on a 7-0 run to take a 42-40 lead on a layup by Antwan Walker in the opening minutes.
St. Bonaventure would retake the lead, 44-42, before Russell would knock down a three to give Rhode Island a one-point lead, 45-44.
The Bonnies would retake the lead, 47-46, before two free throws an another three from Russell would give the Rams a 50-47 lead with 14:33 to play.
The Rams would go on to build as much as an eight-point lead, 69-61, on a jumper by Tyrese Martin with 5:36 to play in the game.
St. Bonaventure would get within three, 69-66, before a Martin three-pointer would extend URI’s lead to 72-66 with 3:11 to play in the game.
The Bonnies would get back within four, 75-71, with just over a minute to play, but back-to-back dunks by Jacob Toppin and Jeff Dowtin pushed the Rams’ lead to 79-71 with 28 seconds left.
Russell would knock down two free throws in the final seconds to seal the win.
While Russell led the way, Cyril Langevine added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Rams shot 46% from the field and 42% from three in the game.

URI returns to action on Tuesday, January 28 when they visit George Mason.
