Ryan Beats Out Brady for NFL MVP Award

Matt Ryan wins MVP Award.
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan beat out Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to win the NFL MVP Award. The two quarterbacks are set to meet in Super Bowl 51 on Sunday night in Houston.

The last player to win the MVP award and the Super Bowl in the same year was Kurt Warner in 1999. Ryan won 25 of the votes to Brady's 10.

Ryan was also named AP Offensive Player of the Year.

Ryan helped the Falcons to an 11-5 regular season record while throwing 38 touchdowns to only seven interceptions.

He had a quarterback completion percentage of 69.9 and racked up 4,944 yards passing.
