Winning Streak Snapped, Sky Chiefs Fall to Coyotes 123-118

Providence Sky Chiefs
The Providence Sky Chiefs (6-2) fell to the  (6-3) North Carolina Coyote 123-118 on Sunday evening at Brown University's Pizzitola Center on Sunday evening. The loss snaps the Sky Chiefs six game winning streak and is also their first home loss of the season. 

"We Gotta do better defensively, we play good defense in spurts but we gotta do it for 48 minutes," Sky Chiefs head coach Kyle Ivy-Jones said after the game.

Couldn't Get A Stop

Providence led the game, 100-88 with with 9:30 left to play in the game but the Coyotes would go on a 21-6 run over the next six minutes to take a 109-106 lead with 3:30 left. Providence had a couple of oppurtunities to get the lead back with time ticking away, however, they could not get the stop they needed on the defensive end. 

Leaders

The Sky Chiefs were led by Deshaun Green who had 21 points, while Shane DaRosa followed up with 20 points though. DaRosa, had 16 points in the first half but sat most of the second half due to foul trouble. 

The Coyotes were led by Eladio Espinosa with a game high 30 points while Cory Evans and James Otey had 27 and 26 points respectively. 

Next up for Providence

The Sky Chiefs next game is a home game on Saturday, December 20 at 7:15 p.m. at Brown's Pizzitola Center. The Chiefs will host the Philadelphia Spirit.
