Slow Start Hurts Bulldogs, Lose 73-47 to Vermont
Bryant was led by Dyami Starks who had 13 points in the game but it was the Bulldogs slow start that was their ultimate downfall. Check out the five takeaways slide show below.
The Catamounts opened up the game on a 13-2 run and led 34-14 at the half and never looked back. Bryant played much better in the second half of the game, but it was too late.

Bryant will now have a few days off before traveling to Ohio to face Akron on Sunday, November 30 at 5 p.m.

Five Takeaways From Bryant's 73-47 Loss to Vermont
Gus Riley
6'8"Freshman Gus Riley made his third start at the forward position for Bryant and didn't give them much in the 13 minutes that he played.
Riley pulled down one rebound and had no points for Bryant in the game against Vermont.
On the season, he averages six points and three rebounds per game.
Points off turnovers
The Catamounts turned the ball over 18 times in the game while Bryant turned the ball over 16 times. The difference however is in the points off turnovers statistics.
Bryant only scored 12 points off the 18 Vermont turnovers. Meanwhile, Vermont scored 26 points off the 16 Bryant turnovers.
The Bulldogs will look to do a better job of not turning the ball over and then cashing in on opponents turnovers.
Going to the line, or not
The Bulldogs have to do a better job of getting to the free throw line and getting themselves easy points. In this game, Bryant only shot 15 free throws while Vermont shot 36 free throws in the game.
Dyami Starks led the Bulldogs with 13 points in the game but only shot two free throws the entire game.
Zach Chionuma and Shane McLaughlin led the Bulldogs with six free throws each.
They need to get themselves to the free throw line and shooting jump shots is not a way to do that. See next slide.
Points in the Paint
The Bulldogs lost the points in the paint battle 38-14 in this game against Vermont. Bryant relied too much on the jumps shot and that is part of the reason they have gotten off to a slow start.
In the game, six of Bryants first seven shots were three point attempts, none of them were made. The result is that they trailed 11-2 in the first seven minutes of game. Bryant made seven of 27 three point shots in this game. The Bulldogs didn't make a jump shot until Starks made one with just over ten minutes to play in the half. By that time is was 13-4.
Bulldogs have to work their offense and make more of an effort to go inside early in the game for easier points instead of settling for jump shots. Going inside can also result in free throws. See Previous slide
Slow Start
Much of this loss can be blamed on the slow start that Bryant got off to in this game. Vermont took control of the game right away, by starting the game on a 13-2 run and leading at the half 34-14.
The Bulldogs played much better in the second half but they just could not recover from the early deficit that they dug themselves.
Getting off to a fast start on the road is vital and Bryant will look to get off to a better start on Sunday when they visit Akron.
