Brown was sparked by sophomore Dan Friday who led the Bears with 21 points (8-14 from the floor) and freshman Nana Owusu-Anane, who finished with 20 points and a team-leading eight rebounds.
"I thought our guys did a good job playing with confidence and competing," said head coach Mike Martin, "It's a team full of competitors and guys with an edge so this is what we had hoped for. We think we can compete with most people in most places."

The game was tied early in the first half 21-21. Later in the first half Brown went on an 11-0 run to capture a 41-34 lead.
North Carolina battled back, but Brown freshman Aaron Cooley hit a three at the halftime buzzer to give Brown a 50-47 lead. In the first half, Brown had only 1 turnover and shot 50% from the field.
In the second half Brown lead much of the way.
Brown was up 69-62 with 12 minutes to go and then the tide began to turn.
UNC took its first lead of the half 72-70 with 9:44 to play.
Then, it was North Carolina's in-and-out game that led to open Carolina threes that made the difference.
Final Score: Goliath 1 and Brown 0.
