Two Players Ejected in PC Men’s Basketball Loss to Kansas State in Bahamas

The Providence College men's basketball team was defeated by Kansas State (3-1), 73-70, in overtime in the team's first game at the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship on Friday, November 17 at the Baha Mar Convention Center in Nassau, Bahamas. 

The game was marred by two player ejections in overtime, when Friars guard Garwey Dual hit Kansas State guard Dai Dai Ames in the face during a dead-ball situation. 

The altercation occurred in front of the Friars bench with coaches having to restrain players; Dual and Ames were hit with two flagrant fouls and both were ejected from the game.

About Game 

Junior Devin Carter (Miami, Fla.) led the way for the Friars, scoring 19 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Bryce Hopkins (Oak Park, Ill.) finished with a double-double, scoring 10 points and recording a game-high 10 rebounds. 

"It was a battle," Head Coach Kim English said.  "It was a gritty contest, a physical contest. Our team had a lot of chances for victory. I give a ton of credit to the Kansas State program that we have a ton of respect for."

The Friars fell to a 3-1 on the season with the loss.
