URI Football Defeats Bryant
The University of Rhode Island football team blew open a close game at Meade Stadium and defeated Bryant University 38-17 on Saturday.
The Rams led 14-7 in the first quarter.

The #13-ranked Rams now move to 7-2, 5-0 CAA Football.
The Bulldogs fall to 2-6, 0-4 CAA.
URI's Gabe Winowich rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns — they were the Rams' first two scores — a 51-yard and a 6-yard run.
Garth White kicked the longest field goal in program history — a 54-yarder.
Rhode Island held Bryant scoreless in the second half. Devin Farrell threw for two second-half touchdowns. The Rams' Ayinde Johnson had a pick-six with 2:12 left in the fourth quarter.

- With the win, Rhode Island has clinched at least a .500 overall record for the sixth straight season and in seven of the last eight seasons.
- The Rams are 14-2 in their last 16 games against CAA opponents.
- Winowich rushed for 90 yards on 13 carries with two touchdowns. All of those numbers are career highs.
- Farrell completed 14-of-22 passes and finished with 272 passing yards. He is now sixth in program history in career passing yards with 4,135.
- Wide receiver Marquis Buchanan topped 100 receiving yards for the fourth time this season. He finished with 124 yards on three catches.
- One of Buchanan's receptions went for 63 yards. He is the first Rhode Island receiver to catch a ball for over 60 yards since 2023.
- Wide receiver Greg Gaines III led all receivers with a game-high six receptions. He added 92 yards and a touchdown.
- Tight end Kevin Schaeffer caught his second touchdown of the season.
- Linebacker A.J. Pena led all defensive players with two tackles for loss.
- Defensive back Andre DePina-Gray recorded a game-high nine tackles.
- Defensive lineman Dontay Bishop notched his first career quarterback sack.
- Johnson's interception returned for a touchdown was the second pick-six of the season for the Rhode Island defense.
- Offensive lineman Tre Alexander was the anchor bearer, while wide receiver Angel Sanchez served as game captain.
