URI Holds on to Beat Duquesne 77-74 at Ryan Center

Jared Terrell leads URI with 20 points
The URI Rams (15-12, 7-7 A-10) defeated (15-12, 5-9 A-10) Duquesne 77-74 on Saturday night at the Ryan Center. With the win, URI snaps a two game losing streak.

Duquesne tied the game at 60 after LG Gill hit a three-pointer with 8:27 to play in the game.

From that point, URI went on a 10-2 run to take a 70-62 lead with 2:40 to play after Hassan Martin converted a layup . 

The Rams hit 9 of their final 10 free throws in the last three minutes to keep their lead and  get the win. 

URI led 42-35 at the half.

The Leaders 

Jared Terrell led URI with 20 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field and 7 of 7 from the free throw line. 

Hassan Martin followed up with 19 points and Jarvis Garrett added 17 of his own. 

Next up 

The Rams return to action on Tuesday, February 23 when they visit Davidson. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
