URI Upsets #21 Nebraska, Win 66-62 At The Ryan Center- 5 Takeaways
E.C. Matthews led all scorers with 26 points and added ten rebounds in the game for the Rams. Of Matthews 26 points, 22 of them came in the second half and overtime.
Other then Matthews, Hassan Martin and freshman Jared Terrell both had big contributions for the Rams. Martin had eight points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots before fouling out in OT and Terrell hit two three-pointers on back to back possessions to start the over time period.

Jarelle Reischel
Jarelle Reischel was the only productive player off the Rams bench in the game and gave the team a spark.
In ten minutes off the bench, Reischel had eight points and five rebounds for URI. Four of his five rebounds were on the offensive glass giving URI second chance opportunities.
The Rams had 16 second chance points in the game compared to Nebraska's nine.

Pretty even matchup
URI beat Nebraska 66-62 in overtime and it was a game that deserved to go to overtime because it was a pretty even matchup.
URI shot 34 percent from the field, Nebraska shot 37 percent.
Both teams shot 15 percent from beyond the arc.
URI had a distinct advantage in rebounding, winning that battle 49 to 36.
Rams had 9 assists, Nebraska had 10.
Both teams had eight fast break points, 28 points in the paint and 16 turnovers.
Rams turned the 16 turnovers into 12 points, Nebraska turned them into ten.
Jared Terrell
Freshman Jared Terrell played 40 minutes in the game, more then anyone else on the team, and scored 12 points in the game for URI.
Of those 12 points, six of them came in the start of the OT period when he hit three-pointers on back to back possessions for the Rams.
Terrell has started all three games for URI this year and averages just under 12 points per game and shooting 41 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
E.C. Matthews
Sophomore guard and Bob Cousy Award nominee E.C. Matthews had 26 points and 10 rebounds in the game for a double-double. His first one of the season. Of his 26 points, 22 of them came in the second half and overtime period, leading the Rams to a win.
During one stretch, Matthews scored eight straight points for URI.
URI will need more of these games from Matthews if they want to make noise in the A10 this season.
Rams snap the drought
The URI Rams defeated #21 Nebraska on Saturday night at The Ryan Center, snapping a long drought of losses against ranked opponents.
Prior to beating Nebraska, the last time URI beat a ranked opponent was in 1998 when they beat #25 Utah.
This win is easily the biggest win of head coach Dan Hurley's URI career and will spark the Rams for the remainder of the season.
