URI Upsets #21 Nebraska, Win 66-62 At The Ryan Center- 5 Takeaways

The University of Rhode Island Rams (3-0) defeated #21 Nebraska 66-62 in overtime on Saturday night at The Ryan Center in front of a crowd of over 7,000 fans. The win is URI's first over a ranked opponent since 1998 when they beat Utah. 

E.C. Matthews led all scorers with 26 points and added ten rebounds in the game for the Rams. Of Matthews 26 points, 22 of them came in the second half and overtime. 

Other then Matthews, Hassan Martin and freshman Jared Terrell both had big contributions for the Rams. Martin had eight points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots before fouling out in OT and Terrell hit two three-pointers on back to back possessions to start the over time period.

Rhode Island next travels to Kansas to take on the Jayhawks on Thursday, November 27. The game will be shown on ESPN2.
