Wilfork issues statement on Miami allegations
New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has issued a statement on the allegations of recruiting improprieties at the University of Miami, regarding his implication.

"I am aware of the report that has claims that involve me while at the U," Wilfork said, through three separate "Tweets" on his Twitter page. "While the NCAA and the U conduct their investigations (my wife) and I believe that it is not appropriate for us to comment. Thanks for your continued support and confidence in me."
Wilfork was prominently named in a Yahoo! Sports report this week about potential recruiting violations within the University of Miami athletic program. The report alleges that Wilfork accepted $50,000 while a student-athlete at Miami from an individual, Nevin Shapiro, who acted on behalf of Axcess Sports - an agency owned by Shapiro and Michael Huyghue.
