National Weather Service Predicts Snow of 3-5 Inches Coming Tuesday Into Wednesday

Snow expected on Tuesday and Wednesday
Get ready for the next storm. The National Weather Service (NWS) modeling has snow in the range of 3 to 5 inches coming late Tuesday into Wednesday.

The forecast for "Providence-T.F. Green Airport" is for rain and sleet Monday and Tuesday -- before turning to snow Wednesday morning.

Tuesday Night

Rain likely before 5 am, then rain and sleet likely. Cloudy, with a low around 31. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%. New sleet accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.

Wednesday

Snow likely before 1 pm, then scattered snow showers, mainly between 1 pm and 4 pm. Patchy fog before 10 am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Northwest wind 3 to 7 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Latest Snow Forecast

The snow forecasted would mark the second storm of the season.

On Sunday, December 1 through Tuesday the 3rd, Rhode Island was hit with two bands of snow with a total accumulation of approximately 4 inches in the Providence area and as much as 7 inches in the Northwest area.
