Bank Fee Wars - Two RIers at the Center of the Storm

The national outrage sparked by the proposed bank fees being tacked on to debit accounts by Bank of America has set of a national movement, bolstered the Occupy Movement and seen the largest bank in America back down. The two leading players - David and Goliath - are both Rhode Islanders. The powerful CEO of Bank of America, Brian Moyniham, pitted against 22-year-old Rhode Island native Molly Katchpole.

The contrast between the former Edwards & Angell lawyer turned Bank of America leader and the part-time working Roger Williams University grad is dramatic. Katchpole outraged by the new fee issued by Bank of America launched an online petition that generated over 300,000 who jumped on to sign.

The result - a win for Katchpole and back to the drawing board at Bank of America to design a new fee for consumers. See the tale of the tape of the two Rhode Island titans.
