Channel 10 Reporter Attacked By Rooster

Who says TV Reporters don’t deserve hazard pay.

Case in point is Channel 10 reporter Katie Davis who recently found herself under attack by a crazed rooster while shooting an on-camera stand-up at a Farm in Tiverton.

Davis was taping – walking out of a barn when suddenly the rooster starts to run at her and attack her leg. The station posted it on its Facebook page and website and it sure has a lot of people commenting. The story has now been pick-up by tvspy.com which is a nationwide website that reports on hiring and firings and other TV news related stories from across the country.

It appears Davis, who was a good sport about it while the camera was still rolling—was not hurt in the incident and was taken by surprise more than anything. Channel 10 News Director Chris Lanni tells us all is well with the crew - and yes the rooster is fine.

"Katie Davis was making some real progress on her exclusive cow theft story. The farmer who’d been robbed of his cows had agreed to speak with her and he’d allowed us on his property. The rooster however was more interested in keeping the story quiet. In the end, no poultry was hurt during the production of this story."

On WJAR’s Facebook page Davis wrote:

“Katie Davis Wjar That rooster actually chased me 3 or 4 times. We thought he went back into the chicken coop, when suddenly he surprised me! Ironically he was the smallest rooster in the farm. The big guys couldn't care less that we were there! March 16 at 5:26pm”

One WJAR Facebook comment was priceless---wondering if "Davis decided to have Chicken for dinner that night"
