NEW: Gas Prices Leap Up Again

Another leap in gas prices in Rhode Island, as the cost per gallon rose six cents this week, the second consecutive week of increases, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s April 4 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.62 per gallon, up six cents from last week. The current price is four cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.66.  A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.80.

The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 16 cents, from a low of $3.539 to a high of $3.699.

Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:
