German General Consul Horlemann to Speak at Prov Committee on Foreign Relations Dinner

German General Consul Ralf Horlemann will speak at the next Providence Committee on Foreign Relations dinner about the role of Germany in the post-Brexit world and the issues relating to facing a more aggressive Russia. 

The dinner will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at the Hope Club in Providence across the street from the Unitarian Church. 

Drinks begin at 6 p.m. with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m.

Ralf Horlemann 

Horlemann has served Germany’s Foreign Service for over two decades and has experience in international security policy, transatlantic relations, and Asian affairs. 

Throughout his various assignments, he has worked to develop Germany’s policy in conflict prevention and management. From 1998 to 2002, Horlemann was an important part of founding the Berlin Center for International Peace Operations. 

He has also worked on Asian affairs on several occasions over the last 20 years, including Consul in Hong Kong and Head of German Interest Section to Pyongyang, North Korea. 

From 2002 to 2005 he was responsible for Transatlantic Relations and Asian Affairs as Counselor to the German Embassy in Washington D.C.

Horelmann’s academic record includes an MA and a doctoral degree in political science and international relations from Munich University.
