Wal-Mart Inc. has announced the closing of three Sam's Club stores located in Warwick, Seekonk and Fall River. The stores will close permanently on February 5.

The closings come as part of Wal-mart Stores' plans to close 269 locations all over the world and 154 locations in the United States.

“The decision to close stores is difficult and we care about the associates who will be impacted. We invested considerable time assessing our stores and clubs and don’t take this lightly. We are supporting those impacted with extra pay and support, and we will take all appropriate steps to ensure they are treated well," said Doug McMillon, president and CEO, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
