1) RI Ranks Poorly for Treating Gambling Addition
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTWhile Rhode Island continues to expand gambling, the state is falling far behind in supporting programs to help compulsive gamblers.
According to a new study by WalletHub, Rhode Island ranked 15th in the country for "gambling friendliness" -- but 40th in the country in supporting programs to provide treatment.
The study also found that Rhode Island is tied for first (with four other states) for highest lottery sales per capita.
In the past 12 months, Rhode Island has added two sports betting parlors and has legalized mobile gambling.
2) RI Companies with Best Reputation
The Reputation Institute annually reports the US RepTrak 100, an annual study of corporate reputation in America.
The Rhode Island companies with top rankings:

CVS ranked #82
MetLife #99
#1 in the survey — NetFlix
The Reputation Institute surveyed more than 167,000 individuals from January to February 2019. Companies considered typically have revenue in excess of $1 billion and brand familiarity with at least 30% of the U.S. general population.

A study from Groupon says Rhode Island has the second most expensive beer in America -- according to their methodology, Rhode Island ranks #49 for affordability.
"Worst state for barflies? Predictably, a night out in New York will set you back quite a bit. The big bar bills are offset a little by New York’s relatively average in-store prices. It’s still expensive, but there are four states with beer prices that make the Empire State seem a little more reasonable: Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington and—the most expensive state for beer in America—Alaska."
Rhode Island ranked high for beer enthusiasm, however -- cracking (open) the top ten states with a #9 ranking.
