RI Ranked 10th Worst for Job Creation in U.S. by Gallup

Rhode Island has been ranked 10th worst for job creation in Gallup's annual ranking of state job markets in 2014 with a job creation index number of 21. 

Rhode Island, along with Connecticut, has ranked in the bottom ten in job creation every year since 2008 and they are the only two states to do so. 

Connecticut has been ranked as the worst hiring climate while North Dakota has been ranked as the best hiring climate, followed closely by Texas.

The 2014 State level findings have were drawn from 201,254 interviews with employed adults across the nation. 

The index comes from full and part time workers reports of whether or not their company is hiring and expanding the size of their workforce.
