Smart Benefits: HSA Limits Will Increase in 2015

The IRS has approved HSA limits for 2015, which feature small increases for contributions, deductible amounts and out-of-pocket maximums.

Consumer Savings

The new limits will allow consumers to save slightly more next year. They can set aside:

• $3,350 for an individual plan
• $6,650 for a family plan.

The extra amount consumers can save will help cushion against a slightly higher deductible amount of $1,300 for an individual plan or $2,600 for a family plan.

The plan out-of-maximum – the maximum amount consumers can spend on co-pays, deductibles and coinsurance – will also increase slightly from 2014. In 2015, it will be $6,950 for an individual plan and $12,900 for a family plan.
