St. Mary Academy-Bay View Names Snider Vice Principal

St. Mary Academy - Bay View has named former Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) deputy commissioner Mary Ann Snider as Vice-Principal of Academics and Curriculum.

“We are thrilled to have such an esteemed and accomplished researcher and administrator join our Bay View community. We strive continuously to provide our students with the most cutting edge and effective curriculum, based on the latest research data. Vice Principal Snider’s expertise is going to help bring our curriculum to the next level,” said Colleen Gribbin, Principal of St. Mary Academy - Bay View’s Upper and Middle School.

In her role, Snider will lead the academy’s efforts in the evaluation of the current curriculum and implementation of initiatives that promote academic success.

About Snider

Previously, Snider lead RIDE’s curriculum, instruction, and assessment efforts, as well as teaching at the college level, first at Rhode Island College and more recently at Providence College.

Snider was selected for the 2019 Paul W. Crowley Award for Education Leadership from the Rhode Island School Superintendents’ Association (RISSA) and the 2004 New England Superintendents Award from the New England Association of School Superintendents (NEASS).

Snider received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education, summa cum laude, from Rhode Island College in 1981 and a Master of Education in Research, Evaluation and Assessment from Boston College in 1986.
