Swipely Raises Another $20 Million

Swipely Founder and CEO Angus Davis
Providence-based Swipely has announced another $20 million in raised funds, bringing the company’s total to date to $40.5 million.

Swipely is a cloud-based merchant sales company designed to provide valuable insight into customer behavior and enable businesses to market themselves most effectively.

With Swipely, consumers earn rewards for being loyal local customers, and merchants gain insight to market to those loyal customers.  As company founder and CEO Angus Davis says, Swipely is developing “an operating system for local commerce.”

Swipely plans to use the increased funds to expand their network of restaurants and retailers, as well as expanding product capabilities and aggressively hiring for key positions within the company.

According to its website, Swipely is used by merchants in over 500 U.S. Cities and is used for over 2 billion transactions per year.

The company now employs over 100 people and will continue to grow as their platform expands.  To accommodate expansion, the company moved its headquarters to a larger downtown Providence office earlier this year.
