UNAP Members, Landmark Medical Center Agree to 3-Year Contract

Mike Souza, Landmark Medical Center
Members of the United Nurses and Allied Professionals (UNAP) at Landmark Medical Center and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island voted last Wednesday to ratify a new three-year contract.

"This contract recognizes the commitment and sacrifice of our frontline caregivers through increased economic security and the continuation of hard-fought rights and benefits. We were proud to present the deal to our members and I'm pleased they approved this contract with great enthusiasm," said Nina Rotatori, UNAP Local 5067 president.

According to UNAP’s press release, the deal extends to professional and technical staff, as well as certified nursing assistants working in both northern Rhode Island healthcare facilities.

Rotatori added, "I'm grateful to the members of our bargaining team for their tireless efforts these last many months and to all UNAP members who raised questions, participated in the process and share our collective goal to strengthen healthcare delivery in northern Rhode Island."

Landmark Medical Center and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island employ approximately 1100 employees and have 130,000 patient visits per year.

“Given the current healthcare climate and related challenges, I am confident we have reached a contract that is mutually beneficial. We look forward to continuing our work together in providing high-quality patient care,” said Mike Souza, CEO of Landmark Medical Center and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island.
