The season's most sought-after spirits--whiskey, bourbon and rye--will be center stage on December 5th at a special whiskey tasting and book signing event in Providence.

Clay Risen, author of American Whiskey Bourbon & Rye: A Guide to the Nation’s Favorite Spirit will headline an evening of learning, book signing, and tasting sponsored by Bottles Fine Wines and Books On The Square. Bottles will pour 4 different American whiskies for sampling: Elijah Craig 12 Year Bourbon, Sons of Liberty Single Malt Whiskey, Rittenhouse 4 Year Rye, and Corsair Quinoa Whiskey.

Clay Risen 

Clay Risen, who currently edits the New York Times' award-winning Disunion column, is also the author of the forthcoming Bill of the Centruy: The Epic Battle of the Civil Rights Act. Risen has previously worked as an assistant editor at The New Republic and the managing editor of Democracy: A Journal of Ideas. He has written for several national magazines and newpapers, including The Atlantic, Smithsonian and The New York Times Magazine. Risen currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children.

The details

The event takes place on Thursday December 5, 2013 at Books on the Square in Wayland Square located at 471 Angell Street in Providence, RI. The event is free and open to all. Tasting will begin at 6:30 and the discussion and book signing will run from 7-8:30pm.
