Popular Pizzeria Opening Next to Trader Joe’s in Fox Point

Trader Joe’s in Providence is getting a new neighbor. 

Earlier in July, GoLocal announced that a new liquor store was opening next to the grocery chain. 

Now, Antonio’s — with locations on Thayer Street and in Pawtucket on the East Side line — has announced it is coming to the location on the former 195 land.

Featuring whole pies — and pizza by the slice — Antonio’s is known for such inventive creations as a steak and bacon pizza, the "tortellini pesto," and the “Siracusa” (sausage, caramelized onions, mozzarella, blue cheese, and crème fraiche.)

The popular chain, which started in Amherst, also has multiple locations in Massachusetts. 

It marks the latest addition to the area, which recently saw PVD Donuts announce it was closing its Ives Street location to move to Wickenden Street.
