RI Chef Named to Food & Wine 40 Big Food Thinkers Under 40

Matt Jennings, Executive Chef and Co-owner of Farmstead, La Laiterie and Farmstead Downcity, has been named to Food & Wine's 40 Big Food Thinkers Under 40 in the magazine's November issue. The article refers to Jennings' cheesemonger experience, saying "few have gone as far or as deep as Jennings." Asked about being named to the list, Jennings said, "I'm delighted & honored. There is a movement going on this country--a desire by consumers to come back to what is real and true. Food created by hand, from scratch, by people who love what they are doing, is a huge part of that. I'm proud to do my little part to help move the needle. Quite honestly, that's why I'm on this planet--to embrace the notion that food is a convivial thread in our culture and to help inspire others to join the revolution."
