Public Forum on Rhode Island's Healthcare Spending Trends Coming in May

Rhode Islanders spend nearly 2.5 times more on healthcare today than they did in the year 2000. That is unsustainable. As part of larger efforts to reverse that trend and increase healthcare affordability, the state is collecting and analyzing healthcare spending data and tracking our progress against measurable goals.

On Monday, May 8, at 9:00 a.m., the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner (OHIC) and the Rhode Island Cost Trends Steering Committee are hosting a first look at 2021 data on statewide healthcare spending trends, and to learn about actions we are taking to contain rising health care costs. Healthcare leaders from across Rhode Island will join this public forum. A full agenda and list of speakers may be found HERE.
