Timeline of Ebola in the US

The United States has about five hospitals with special isolation units capable of containing Ebola victims, and a slowly growing list of US citizens in need of care including: Texas Presbyterian Hospital and Nebraska Medical Center where US victims are currently being treated.

Four American citizens have been identified as confirmed cases: Ashoka Mukpo, and only - Dr. Richard Sacra of UMass Medical - has been successfully treated and released. 

Concerns about Rhode Island’s preparedness in the case of a confirmed Ebola case has sparked conversation among local experts - including Director of Health Dr. Michael Fine - to speak out on the topic.

The CDC is currently supervising Texas Presbyterian Hospital for persons who have potentially come into contact with the index patient and has recently deployed a second team "to train and assist the hospital in infection control and the monitoring of health care workers."
