When Adjusting for Cost of Living, RI Nurses Are Not Paid Very Well

After adjusting for COL, nurses in Georgia were the best paid at $45.54.
California nurses are the second best paid after COL.

New England
The New England states ranked poorly — very poorly. Connecticut was top-ranked in the region at #34 ($37.27 per hour) followed by Massachusetts at #36 ($37.09 per hour).
New Hampshire ranked #40 ($36.50), and Rhode Island at #41 — $36.20 an hour.
Vermont ranked #46 ($32.87 per hour), and Maine at #48 ($32.37 per hour).
Nationally
The average hourly pay for registered nurses in the U.S. is $42.80, according to the most recent U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics occupational employment statistics survey, but wages can vary based on the cost of living in every state.
The highest average hourly wage for RNs is in California, but the state also is one of the most expensive places to live.
Last ranked after COL, Hawaii at just $28.16 an hour.
