African Americans on College Hill Walking Tour Set for Saturday

The African Americans on College Hill Walking Tour will take place on Saturday, July 16 at 10 a.m. 

The tour will begin in front of the RISD Auditorium and lasts 90 minutes.

Led by Ray Rickman, the tour will take participants through Providence's oldest neighborhood and the African Americans who lived their lives. 

Most notably, the tour will talk about those who left a mark  on Rhode Island including opera diva Sissieretta Jones, landscape artist Edward Bannister, and Harlem Renaissance author Rudolph Fisher. 

Tickets are $10 for adults while children under 12 are free. 

All ticket proceeds will benefit the Swim Empowerment program which provides swimming lessons for youth of color in Rhode Island.
