Animal Rescue RI Recognized by Miranda Lambert

Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI) has been chosen as the 2016 recipient of MuttNation Foundation's Mutts Across America 50 States/50 Shelters annual award. The award was founded by Grammy winner Miranda Lambert and her mother, Bev Lambert.

"Receipt of this grant is confirmation that our diligence to save animals, provide them with care, and help them find loving families, as well as our efforts in humane education and ongoing support, are valuable and critical. We will continue to welcome pets with open hearts," said Susan Lovejoy, Interim Executive Director of Animal Rescue Rhode Island.

MuttNation Foundation's mission is to end animal cruelty, neglect, and homelessness.

Miranda, Bev and the MuttNation Foundation Board of Directors selected one top shelter in each of the 50 U.S. states to win the $3,000 grants.

AARI was chosen as the Rhode Island shelter exemplifying the fight to end animal suffering. Besides its work to help animals in need, ARRI meets criteria that is in line with the Foundation's values.

The values include:  

    •    High adoption per intake rate
    •    High volunteerism
    •    Fiscal responsibility
    •    Heavily advocating in spay and neuter campaigns
    •    Great community presence

Animal Rescue Rhode Island

Animal Rescue Rhode Island was founded in 1938 and is a private, nonprofit, no-kill shelter that is committed to the humane welfare of animals in need, regardless of geography, time, space, breed, or humanely treatable medical  or behavioral issues.
