Applications Being Accepted for RI Governor for a Day Essay Contest

Applications being accepted for Governor for a Day Essay contest
Applications are now being accepted for the “Governor for a Day” essay contest held by Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo. The contest comes as part of the Women’s History Month initiative. 

The contest is open to girls in grades 5 through 8. Applicants may email their essays as an attachment to [email protected].

Those interested should apply by March 15 and answer the following question in a 400 word essay: 

“What would you do if you were Rhode Island’s Governor for a day?”

The winning essayist will be named “Governor for a Day” and spend a day in the spring meeting and speaking with Governor Raimondo as well as other leaders across the state. 

Students should submit the following information along with their essay: 

• Name

• Age

• School

• Grade

• Home Address

• Phone Number

• Email Address

• Teacher’s Contact Information

• Parent or Guardian Name(s)
