Arts and Business Council of RI Announces New Leadership

As the local arts community expands and strengthens, so, ultimately, does the leadership. The Arts & Business Council of Rhode Island has announced that Executive Director Peter Bramante, who has helped navigate A&BC/RI through ten years of significant growth and development, will soon transition to a new role at FirstWorks. Bramante will serve as the organization's first Managing Director, focusing on operations and working closely with Executive Artistic Director Kathleen Pletcher.

"We certainly wish Peter the best in his new role, and thank him for his years of thoughtful leadership, strategic skills and his devotion to strengthening the arts community through innovative programs and partnerships during his tenure as Executive Director," said Gina DiSpirito, Chair, A&BC/RI.

Rebecca Siemering Takes Helm

Taking over for Bramante: Rebecca Siemering, the current Director of Providence Art Windows, an artist with ample experience in arts administration and fundraising. Ms. Siemering has worked with the  A&BC/RI for the last four years on a project basis, working on the Encore Awards, IndieArts Fest, independent gallery projects and grant support.  "Rebecca's solid management credentials, knowledge of the arts community, and previous experience with the organization will not only allow a smooth transition of A&BC/RI's executive leadership, but will be instrumental in broadening the appeal, services and membership of the newly deployed ArtTix platform and website," said DiSpirito.

"I am delighted by the opportunity to build upon the work that A&BC/RI has been known for," Ms. Seimering said, "while exploring ways to expand and refine our services through the recently adopted new technology that underpins the ArtTix website and box office platforms."

Siemering will help implement a newly adopted strategic plan that will focus on audience development services, in addition to maintaining the high-caliber events programming that the arts community anticipates.
