Sure, countless neighborhoods throughout Rhode Island may be passing out candy tomorrow, but which ones deliver the best treats? GoLocal has done the research for you and determined that eight particular cities and towns continuously dish out the best candy and boast the most ghoulish houses.

Now that you know the best locations for trick-or-treating, keep the following safety tips in mind.

Costume Design: Whether purchased or made at home, costumes should be light and bright enough to be clearly visible to motorists. For greater visibility during dusk and darkness, decorate or trim costumes with reflective tape that will glow in the beam of a car's headlights. Bags or sacks should also be light colored or decorated with reflective tape. Reflective tape is usually available in hardware, bicycle, and sporting goods stores. To easily see and be seen, children should also carry lashlights.
Pedestrian Safety: Young children should always be accompanied by an adult or an older, responsible child. All children should WALK, not run from house to house and use the sidewalk if available, rather than walk in the street. Children should be cautioned against running out from between parked cars, or across lawns and yards where ornaments, furniture, or clotheslines present dangers.
Choosing Safe Houses: Children should go only to homes where the residents are known and have outside lights on as a sign of welcome. Children should not enter homes or apartments unless they are accompanied by an adult.
Best Trick or Treat Neighborhoods in Rhode Island
Providence
On Providence's East Side, there are some terrific pockets of candy, spooky houses, and great pumpkin carvings. On College Hill, Keene Street is renowned for its jack o' lanterns and haunted houses. Meanwhile, the cluster of houses on Freeman Parkway has a reputation for lots of great decorations, spirit, and attending good candy givers. Olney Street, near Moses Brown School, is also well loved for its looming Victorians that owners really dress up for the night. Grotto is famous for great grabs, and kids from Mount Hope are known to commute to the Blackstone Boulevard area.
Cranston
In Cranston, locals know that Dean Estates, the old-fashioned tract near Garden City, is full of young families who love the holidays and their little ones fill the neighborhood for early trick or treating (kids come from other areas to enjoy this destination neighborhood). On the other side of the city, Edgewood's quaint Pawtuxet Village gets the nod for charming houses that are close together (more treats in less time!), lots of pretty trees for spooking up, and it's full of young families with kids and dogs who give out great treats.
Woonsocket

Warwick

East Greenwich

Barrington
Word on the tree-lined streets here is that the ‘Roberta Plat’ neighborhood, just off Lincoln Avenue, between Middle Highway and Washington Road is fantastic with lots of modest, family houses, close to each other for ideal trick or treating… maximum candy collecting with minimum walking, plus very little auto traffic… always a success. Coventry
