The featured work on the first program, September 29, is Georges Bizet’s Symphony in C Major, composed when Bizet was only 17 years of age.

Also on the program are Tomaso Albinoni’s Adagio for Strings and Organ, a work actually composed by Remo Giazotto from themes by Albinoni and Leo Delibes’ Le Roi s’amuse a suite of dances from incidental music to Victor Hugo’s play of the same name.

On November 3, the ensemble will present Tchaikovsky’s Serenade in C Major and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G Minor.

Trumpeter Joseph Foley will be featured as soloist on February 16,  in F.J. Haydn’s Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra in E-flat Major.

Foley, in addition to being Principal Trumpet of the RI Philharmonic Orchestra and Professor of Music at Rhode Island College, has performed with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and is a sought after chamber musician throughout the United States.

Mozart’s Overture to “Le Nozze di Figaro” and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 in A Major, the “Italian,” round out the program.

On April 18, 2020, in honor of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, the orchestra will perform the composer’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, the “Eroica.”

The program begins with Arvo Pärt’s Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten and includes Gabriel Fauré’s lovely Pavane.
