With the pending thaw, the kids may be getting antsy, but the weather isn't quite ready for outdoors all the time. Here are a few creative ways to keep the kidos on track and productive.

Kido Tip 1. Lego fun

All of the kids we know, and most of the adults, love to lose themselves in acts of elaborate building. This weekend, we’ll be clearing off the table and spreading out our blocks, marble runs, and Legos to see where they

take us. Our friends make up Lego challenges - verbal or written out on cards - such as build something as tall as your brother, build a boat, build something you can crawl through. Possibilities are endless!

Kido Tip 2. Spring forward

Daylight Saving Time is March 13, 2011. I find it helpful to set our clocks forward one hour before we go to bed tonight so when we wake up we know what time it is supposed to be. Daylight Saving Time, takes on new meaning when you are a parent – for good and bad. From what it will do to your kid’s sleep schedule, to more time for a walk or to play at the park after dinner. Kido Tip 3. DIY Bottle cap magnets

Transform your kid photos or artwork into a handmade bottle cap magnets. Materials needed (found at home and/or at craft shop); Clean bottle caps, photos/artwork to fit 1"circle, Modge Podge, Mod Podge Dimensional Magic, small magnets, adhesive glue, scissors, and toothpicks.
