Barenaked Ladies, Better Than Ezra, and KT Tunstall Wow the Mohegan Sun Arena

Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall opened up the evening, and was rock solid as she got the large crowd going with her staples of “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” and “Suddenly I See.”
Better Than Ezra followed with an entertaining set that entailed frontman and guitarist Kevin Griffin cajoling the audience’s participation of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” while parading through the energized crowd. Of course no BTE set would be complete without them performing their eponymous “Good.” Griffin was backed by bandmates Tom Drummond on bass, guitarist Jim Payne, and Michael Jerome on drums.

Led by lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter Ed Robertson, the band put on a stellar performance playing their hits such as “Pinch Me,” “Brian Wilson,” “One Week,” “If I Had $1000000,” and “The Old Aprtment.” Griffin was supported by bass player Jim Creeggan, drummer Tyler Stewart, and keyboardist Kevin Hearn.
For its size, the Mohegan Sun Arena has a wonderfully intimate feel. With the high-quality caliber of acts it presents, you should definitely put it on your list of must-visit venues.
