NEW: Films, Actors with RI Ties Nab Academy Award Nominations

"Great morning for many Rhode Island Film connections! OSCAR nominations include our friends such as Wes Anderson, Jeremy Dawson and their team for multi-nominated "The Grand Budapest Hotel". Wes and Jeremy previously made "Moonrise Kingdom" in the Ocean State. Mark Ruffalo for his role in "Foxcatcher." Mark previously filmed "Infinitely Polar Bear" in Rhode Island and that film will be released in June. Emma Stone, who recently wrapped the "Woody Allen Summer 2014" film, for her supporting actress role in "Birdman," said Feinberg.
Feinberg continued, "Whiplash" was also nominated for Best Picture and supporting actor. It stars Miles Teller who just finished portraying boxer Vinny Paz in the Chad Verdi-Martin Scorsese-Bruce Cohen produced, "Bleed For This." Steve Carell also was nominated for his work in "Foxcatcher." He starred in Rhode Island's "Dan In Real Life." Ed Norton was nominated for his supporting work in "Birdman" and he had a star role previously in Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom."

She had a wonderful role in the Rhode Island film "Evening" and I believe Meryl will finally come into her own and one day be recognized for her acting talent.
Many of the short films nominated premiered at the Academy Award sanctioned Rhode Island International FIlm Festival and as a result, were given inclusion into the nomination process. Very excited. It's a great bunch of films and artistry. See you all at the Red Carpet Event at the Vets on Sunday, February 22nd, 2015."
