Newport Polo's Braveheart Ball to Raise Funds for Children's Charities

No kilts necessary: Lynne Torrey, Patrick Jardin, and Sophie Plowright enjoy last year's Braveheart Ball in Newport.
Mel Gibson may not be in a kilt with his face painted, but Newport will be going distinctly Braveheart this Friday night, and for a great cause—local kids.

The Newport Polo Club will host its 12th Annual International Polo Charity Ball at the Rosecliff Mansion on Bellevue Ave on August 3, 2012 from 7pm- midnight. The black tie gala, dubbed the Braveheart Ball, is the social highlight of Newport’s polo season each summer and raises tens of thousands of dollars each year for local charitable causes.

This year's beneficiary: Star Kids Scholarship Program

This year's silent and live auctions will benefit Star Kids Scholarship Program, which provides educational opportunities and financial support to qualified, high-risk, low-income children through programs to graduate each child from high school, with the hope of pursuing higher education and breaking intergenerational cycles. The gala will feature cocktails, dinner, and entertainment. For ticket information and to purchase tickets, call 401-847-7090 or visit www.NptPolo.com.
