Newport Tree Conservancy to Host Workshop on Emerald Ash Borer

The Newport Tree Conservancy will host a free workshop to discuss the dangers of Emerald Ash Borer.

“Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive insect responsible for the destruction and death of millions of ash trees here in the United States,” writes the Newport Tree Conservancy in their press release.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, March 20 at 6 p.m. at the Newport Public Library.

The Workshop

The Newport Tree Conservancy is inviting homeowners, arborists, landscapers and citizens to the workshop.

Caroline Scanlon, Urban and Community Forestry Program Coordinator for the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management will provide an overview of the dangers posed by this invader and the best methods for treating at-risk trees.
