Wheeler School Singers Heading To National Competition

The Wheeler School's a cappella group, "18 Wheelers," will be competing in the 2015 International Championship of High School A Cappella. The event takes place in New York City on Friday, April 17, and it features the best high school a cappella groups in world. Each school will perform a set of songs and will be judged based on factors such as on tone quality, diction and dynamics, choreography, use of stage space.

This is not the first time the Wheelers have been recognized for their excellence. They made it to the championships back in 2010, they were showcased on this season's WGBH-TV show, "Sing that Thing," and they are featured on the "Best of High School A Cappella" national compilation CD.

School faculty member, Kristin Sprague, is the group's director. Members of the 18 Wheelers are chosen through an audition process, and the group performs for nonprofit groups, schools, and events throughout the state, in addition to sold-out, on-campus shows.
