Theatre by the Sea Wins 10 BroadwayWorld RI Awards

Mamma Mia wins nine awards
Theatre by the Sea has been recognized with ten BroadwayWorld Rhode Island Awards honoring regional productions, touring shows, and more, which opened between October 1, 2017, and September 30, 2018.

Nine of the awards were for last summer’s five-week run of Mamma Mia.

“I was thrilled when I heard that our production of Mamma Mia! was acknowledged with so many awards. I had been trying for so long to get the rights to produce the show and had a feeling it would be popular with our audiences. The production was scheduled to run for five weeks and we ended up adding performances to try and meet the demand. Mamma Mia! broke the record for the highest attended show since I purchased the theatre in 2007. Being acknowledged with so many awards for this production is the icing on the cake,” said Theatre By The Sea owner and producer Bill Hanney.
