New York Times bestselling author, and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Ron Powers will join GoLocal Lifestyle Editor Molly O’Brien to talk about his most recent book “No One Cares About Crazy People: The Chaos and Heartbreak of Mental Health in America.” 

The book is based on the true story of his two sons' struggles with mental illness, having both been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

We’ll talk to JoAnne Waite, Clinical Manager at Day One Rhode Island who is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. With 20 years experience working in the field, we’ll get insight on the ways people deal with sexual abuse and sexual harassment. She’ll talk about resources available for victims, how to report abuse and how victims can process trauma.

Local artist Kelli Rae Adams will talk about her latest show, “Curing Time: In Pursuit of Preservation and Sustenance” at World’s Fair Gallery. Adams will discuss how she addressed an interest in themes of labor and economy through her artwork.

Dean will talk about her most recent book, “Making Sense of Science: Separating Substance from Spin.”
