Will This Former NFL Player Be Newport’s Next Big Celebrity Connection?

Newport has been a hot spot for celebrities for years, and most recently, everyone from Jay Leno to Jennifer Lawrence to the cast and crew of HBO’s The Gilded Age has descended on the seaside city. 

Now, one of Newport’s top attractions for automobile aficionados — the Audrain Automobile Museum — has announced a big name is partnering up with them — Michael Strahan. 

Former NFL player Strahan — who with the New York Giants beat then-Tom Brady’s New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII in 2008 — has most recently been a popular media personality.

“We are thrilled to announce that Michael Strahan has joined the Linkage team! Read his column in the next issue coming out in May,” Audrain teased on social media. 

Strahan’s been a co-host on Good Morning America and Live! with Kelly and Michael — but he also has a passion for cars. 

He’s appeared with Newport resident — and Audrain auto acolyte — Leno on "Jay Leno’s Garage," to take a 1986 Lamborghini out for a spin.
