Cliff Walk in Newport Partially Collapses on Thursday

A portion of Cliff Walk in Newport collapsed on Thursday. 

Salve Regina University posted the following warning to the community at 3:30 PM.

A 20-foot stretch of the Cliff Walk north of Ochre Court, between Webster Street and Narragansett Ave, collapsed earlier this afternoon. 

No one was in the area at the time and no injuries have been reported. 

The city of Newport has closed that portion of the Cliff Walk and deemed it a dangerous hazard at this time. 

Please avoid the Cliff Walk between Webster Street and Narragansett Avenue until inspections have been fully completed and the area is declared safe.
