17-Year-Old Killed in Car Crash in Providence

A 17-year-old male was killed in a car crash in Providence early Monday morning.

About Incident

Shortly after 12:30 AM on Monday, police responded to a report of an accident on Niantic Avenue, near the Providence-Cranston line.

According to police, a vehicle with five occupants had been traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Niantic Avenue when it collided with a parked trailer. 

The 17-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the other four vehicle occupants sustained injuries were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. 

Police are not releasing any additional information at this time.
