The ceremony was held on Saturday, June 22.

The Training

The training consisted of 24 weeks and 812 hours.

"I commend the 69th Providence Police Department Training Academy on the completion of their training. Providence has one of the best police departments in the nation because our force knows they are more than police officers, they are key community leaders in the neighborhoods they serve. The most serious forms of crime have decreased to historic lows because of outstanding police work and we know that additional officers will strengthen efforts to keep our city safe,” said Mayor Jorge Elorza.

The training came after an extensive selection process by Providence Police.
