Body Found in Pawtuxet River in Cranston

A body was found in the Pawtuxet River in Cranston on Tuesday. 

According to Cranston Police, at approximately 5 PM, they received a call from a kayaker that he observed what he believed to be a body in the river near the end of Mill Street where there is bridge over that portion of the water.

Officers arrived and located a white male deceased close to the shoreline.

Cranston Police, Cranston Fire and the RI Medical Examiners office were able to retrieve the body from the river; police are awaiting the findings from the medical examiner and working to identify the person found.

The investigation continues by Cranston Police Detectives and the BCI unit.
