Why can’t we have Lynn Singleton’s Providence every day?

Singleton is the brainchild behind the modern Providence Performing Arts Center renaissance.

He is an innovator, businessman, and visionary.

He brought Hamilton to Providence — a big-time get and big-time bet.

If you have been in downtown Providence over the past three weeks at about 6:00 p.m., you have seen crowds of literally thousands each night, reveling in anticipation of seeing Hamilton.  At 10:30 p.m. each night, social media is flooded with photos and praise. 

The visitors are young, old, diverse — a stark contrast from most theater events at the traditional theater options.

For the past few weeks restaurants — in the dog days of summer — have been runneth over. It has been joy, commerce, and a play of unmatched creativity.

Hamilton is brilliant and the Providence production is first class.

Enough about the production, this is a tribute to the man that created anticipation of a great event and delivered on it.

In Singleton’s Providence, there is big thinking, big doing and big delivery.

Now, if we can just get him to take over the Providence schools.

Kudos to Singleton. Hamilton will leave this weekend, but we kept the real thing here.

Simply, Providence is lucky to have Singleton and his team.
