Music Legend Diana Ross Coming to PPAC in April

Music legend Diana Ross is coming to the Providence Performing Arts Center on Thursday, April 14 for a 7:30 p.m. show

Tickets will go on sale on Sunday, January 17 and can be purchased by clicking here.

Ross is known for songs such as "Stop! In The Name of Love," "Where Did Our Love Go," and "You Keep Me Hangin On. 

The songs "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "You Can't Hurry Love" are among The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's Songs that Shaped Rock & Roll. '

Ross began her career in the 1960s as the lead singer for The Supremes. The group recorded 12 number one singles, becoming the most successful American group in history. 

As a solo artist, Ross achieved 6 number one singles for a combined total of 18 number ones. 

To date, Ross has totaled 31 top ten singles and 14 top ten albums selling more than 100 million units around the globe. 

With the release of "Endless Love" in 1981, Ross became the first female artist in music history to place six singles at top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. 

World Wide Recognition 

Ross' international achievements were acknowledged in December of 2007 by the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C. 

In 2012, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, otherwise known as The Grammys, recognized here with the highest honor, The Life Time Achievement Award. 

Other career milestones include induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Songwriters Hall of Fame, National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Hero Award, NAACP Entertainer Award, Billboard's Female Entertainer of the Century Award, The Soul Train Legend Award and International Lifetime Achievement at the World Music Awards. 

The Guinness Book of Records named Ross the most successful female vocalist of all time. 

Ross' career spans nearly five decades.
