Summit Music Festival Saturday

Tomorrow afternoon, party on down to the 6th annual Summit Music Festival featuring top local and national acts. After a rousingly successful Hope Street Festival earlier this summer, the fun moves down the hill to Summit Park on Hope St. near the Pawtucket line. This year’s lineup includes The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Garrin Benfield, And The Kids, Torn Shorts Duo, Extraordinary Rendition Band and Brother Henry. Laissez les bon temps roullez! How come they never had these kinds of events in Providence when I was growing up?

Jimmy Buffett at Xfinity Saturday

Parrotheads are probably already tailgating at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield where Jimmy Buffett is scheduled to play tomorrow night. Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band seem to bring a whole lifestyle along with some great music every summer. They’ll be joined by Huey Lewis and the News who open at 7PM. Tickets are still available with lawn seats starting at $50.

Celebrate Dylan at Jimmy’s Saturday

Earlier this summer at the Newport Folk Festival, a bunch of nationally known musicians got together for the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan going electric. Tomorrow night, a bunch of talented local artists will celebrate the Bard at Jimmy’s in Newport. The Skinny Millionaires are hosting the event which includes Smith&Weeden, Haunt The House, John Hillman, Bob Kendall, Roz Razkin, Josh Grabert and more! Music starts at 8PM with a cover charge at the door.

Beach Boys at Indian Ranch Sunday

Its summer, the weather’s still warm, and the Beach Boys are back! “America’s band” returns to Indian Ranch in Webster MA, on the banks of the lake with world’s longest name – Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg. No kidding. General Admission tickets remain at $37.00 with kids tickets priced at $23.50. Remember, this is an afternoon show, beginning at 2PM. And don’t miss country artist Tyler Farr at Indian Ranch on Saturday night. He’s a more introspective country star who’s debut album Redneck Crazy recently reached #2 on the country charts.
